Self-Pity (A Mental Disease)

My Battle With Self Pity
(A download I received after a talk with Tammy Bailiff)
Self-Pity (Mental Disease)
Definition: excessive, self-absorbed, unhappiness over one’s own trouble.
It is a relief but also an eye-opening revelation to realize that this is where I’ve been camped out for the last nine months. I’ve pulled away from my relationships and friendships because of this debilitating mindset. I’ve allowed myself to sit and wallow here for so long and it’s scary to note that it can be embarrassing and defeating being here.

It opens the door for pride and ego to thrive... the lie of "I don’t need anyone or anything. I can do it all myself"…such lies.

We need God’s continued guidance and His love daily. We forget that the joy of the Lord is our strength.

Nehemiah 8:10 "... today is holy to our LORD. Do not be saddened this day, for rejoicing in the LORD is your strength!"

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God. vI will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.“"

I AM
THE WAY
THE TRUTH
THE LIFE!

LORD, HELP ME TO REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ALL I NEED.
LESS OF SELF AND MORE OF THEE.
AMEN
