Accountability Begins In The House Of The Lord

ACCOUNTABILITY...begins in the house of the Lord.
"For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who who not obey the gospel of God?" 1 Peter 4:17
The reason the church cannot speak into the world’s sin is because the church itself is hiding behind it's own sin.  Lord, You are awakening within us a spirit of righteous living, where the Word and Holy Spirit are both convicting our hearts!
1. When we are allowing sin to have a foothold in our lives, we cannot, in love, hold each other accountable. Not to society’s ideas of right and wrong, but to the Word (John 1:1-3) and our companion the Holy Spirit (John 14:26)
Holding secrets of leader’s sins and unholiness is giving them free rein to continue in sin, God forbid (Romans 6:1-2).  It is our business to call each other out, in love, not shame or condemnation because there is "now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but the Spirit." (Romans 8:1)

Is it fun to call people we love out?  No!  But call them out we must!  It's not hate to hold each other accountable to righteous living.  And before you say anything else, righteous living does not mean you are perfect or "holier than thou," it means that you hold yourself to God’s standards for how you live your life, not man’s.

If the response is a prideful answer when you bring your concerns to your leader, it is a key indicator that they do not want to yield to God’s Authority in their lives.  Now that... that is something that should be paid full attention!

Guess what though, because it is a reciprocal living, you too can speak into my life and hold me accountable to God’s standard as well.  I expect it!

1 Corinthians 3: 1-23, we are not meant to be babies forever drinking milk, but our goal should be to always be growing up in the Word of God. Eating food for the soul. When we get called upon, we do not shrink away in offense or pride, but we are to check our hearts and make the correction, because those who God loves he chastens.

"If you love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15

If you love me your sister, then warn me in love of the pitfalls ahead. Save my soul because you will be asked why you did not obey?
